- Get up; squeeze everything in car and cry with parents about leaving home - Go to University
Arrive at Derby Hall anytime after 10:30am.
- Register with the Hall and collect your JCR card and keys.
A member of the JCR committee will take you to your room and point out the hall facilities.
- Unpack your stuff; stick the posters on the wall.
Lunch is not provided on the first day, so either bring some food or get your parents to take you for a last meal at one of the excellent pubs near by.
- Using the campus plan you have undoubtedly been sent start exploring the place, find your department, the sports centre the union shop and admire the grounds.
If you haven't already done so, suggest it is time for Mom and Dad to be making a move as they have a long journey ahead of them.
- Find the box of biscuits or the cake Auntie has given you and go and knock on some of the doors in your block; some of your best friends will be the people that you live next to.
5:30pm - 6:30pm tea is served in the hall.
- Week 1 committee will guide you to the sports centre for the Union presidents opening address and a welcome to university.
The Warden of Derby Hall will introduce himself and the Senior Common Room, then the President and JCR committee will all say hello and welcome you.
- Change into what ever you think appropriate and start Barn Dancing!
